Laser-welded pillow plate panels in SS304 form the heating surfaces of this falling film evaporator, delivering high heat-transfer area density with wide, non-clogging channels. The design supports gentle vacuum evaporation, uniform film distribution, and easy cleanability. Configurable for food, chemicals, and environmental duties, with optional TVR/MVR for enhanced energy efficiency.
Feed is preheated and distributed as a thin film over pillow plate panels under vacuum. Evaporation occurs at low temperature; vapor is separated and condensed. Optional TVR or MVR recycles latent heat, lowering specific energy consumption while maintaining product quality.
Standard wetted materials: SS304 pillow plates and headers; options include SS316L/duplex/Ti for chloride or corrosive service. Sanitary finishes, drainable piping, CIP spray devices, and validated cleaning recipes available.
Parameter | Typical Range* |
---|---|
Operation | Continuous, vacuum duty |
Film ΔT | Low (design-dependent) for gentle evaporation |
Steam economy | SE ~1.0 (single effect); higher with TVR/MVR |
Viscosity window | Low to medium-high; wide channels improve tolerance |
Materials | SS304 standard; SS316L/duplex/Ti optional |
*Actual performance depends on feed composition, fouling tendency, and selected energy-recovery option.
Pillow plates offer compact area, wide channels, and easy modular scaling—ideal for moderate fouling and hygienic duties.
Yes. The pillow plate body can integrate TVR initially and be upgraded to MVR to further reduce specific energy use.
For elevated chlorides or aggressive chemistry, we recommend SS316L/duplex or Ti for improved corrosion resistance.
